I’m Spoiled

One of the writing prompts this week in Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop is to write a post inspired by the word spoiled.

I’ve come to realize more and more lately that I am very spoiled by my loving husband. I’m sure I’ve mentioned being thankful for many of the things Matt does for both Davis and I in my thankfulness posts, though I have been slacking on the weekends lately so I haven’t written as many of them as I would like. And there was the picture I posted to Facebook a while back…

I was sitting inside drinking coffee while Matt shoveled the driveway and sidewalk.  He pretty much does all the shoveling, I offer to help but we only have one usable shovel and he always refuses my help anyway.

Matt leaves for work before I get up most mornings so instead of waking up to an alarm clock, I wake up to a phone call from him to say good morning and let me know it’s time to get up to get Davis ready for school.

Matt sometimes works very long days, starting early and ending after dinner, especially around the holidays. Even though he works very hard and long hours, he still comes home and cooks dinner many nights when he’s home early enough and he does dishes and cleaning around the house all while telling me to sit and relax.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, I am spending time everyday thinking of the perfect gift for my amazing husband. And thinking about all the wonderful things Matt does for me. The more I think, the more I realize I need to work at doing more for him and try to spoil him as much as he spoils me.

Next week, I’ll write a post on all the ideas I’ve come up with to spoil my husband. I would love to hear your ideas too! Leave me a comment and I just may feature your idea in my blog post (giving you full credit of course!)

  1. My husband does most of the shoveling too. However our roles are reversed. He stays at home with the kids and I work full time. And I come home and cook, since I love it and like cooking more creative things than the same old meat and potatoes every night, lol.
